Sadly, the VCHC Community Wellness Clinics have been cancelled until further notice.
After 18 months of being so generous with their space, the Alembic Healing Arts Centre needs their clinic for their own Japanese acupuncture program. Many, many thanks to Todd Howard, James Christian, Pacific Rim College and the Alembic Healing Arts Centre for providing us with a home until now.
The health practitioner members having been looking for an alternative space but have come up empty handed. If you know of an appropriate space, preferably downtown with wheelchair access, at least four treatment rooms large enough for a massage table and a couple of chairs, and available for next to nothing, please contact Dacia Moss (dacia(a)telus.net).
If our proposal is accepted by the James Bay Community Society, and our members approve (Come to the VCHC AGM* on May 15th and cast your vote), and their members approve at their AGM in June, we could be back up and running with Community Wellness Clinics in the Fall.
I want to thank all the member participants who used the clinics, especially our regular supporters who came almost every month, and our volunteer health practitioner members for their time, expertise and contribution to our vision for an integrated model of health care. I believe it has been a very valuable experience.
